Railay and Phra Nang Beaches, Thailand

We decided to take the longtail boat today to Railay and Phra Nang beaches. This island was about a 10 minute boat ride away from Ao Nang. You wade through the water to board the boat.

All set!

The scenery in this area of the world is truly breathtaking.

First stop, Railay Beach. The sand here was so soft and the water, so clear. We loved this beach

This was the view from my blanket.

The girls found a little European friend. They were not able to communicate, but had a great time nonetheless!

We then walked to the other side of the island. This was Railay East beach, beautiful, but not as sandy as the west side.

The trail then curved around towards Phra Nang Beach. You pass this neat cave area on the way.

These tree roots were incredible!

This was part of the cave. It's like half of it is a cave, the other half is open.

Phra Nang Beach was one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen. Also, coincidentally, one of the top rated in all of Asia! The sand was so soft, you sank down several inches with each step.

(Looking at this makes me want to hop on the next plane out....)

One side of the beach had this amazing cove, where the cave met the water, I suppose.

This shrine is for the Sea Princess. The fisherman believe she will bring them good luck. It was built inside the cove.

There was also rock climbing going on here. These guys were GOOD! I could not see any foot holds whatsoever, just looked like a flat rock wall!

Sadly, our time at this paradise came to an end and we hopped back on the longtail to go back to Ao Nang.

Can you spot the mistakes on this sign? There are 3 of them. Haha!

Another tuk tuk ride to dinner.

Gotta love stray cats wandering beneath your table!

Ella was very excited that her fried rice came in a hollowed out pineapple!

My soon-to-be 6 year old.

We enjoyed wandering the town at sunset. I loved this sign!

This day was pretty close to perfection!

Back to Singapore tomorrow......
